The Rex Theatre was a first-run house, which operated seven days a week.
At some point during its existence, the Rex Theatre was rechristened a number of names, including the Majestic Theatre, the Progressive Theatre, the National Theatre, and the Fox Theatre.
The theatre was closed permanently in 1987, when it was converted for an expansion of an athletic club. The building still retains its original auditorium ceiling above the running track.
