Rialto Theatre was a first-run house. Ownership was sold to Sid Grauman in 1919 who operated the venue through 1924.

Beginning 16 October 1922, the theatre featured an extended run of When Knighthood Was in Flower (1922). The theatre was extensively remodelled on a design by architect William Lee Woollett in 1923.

In later years, the venue was converted to retail use.
