Born 17 January 1882 near Smithville in Clay County, Missouri, USA, as Noah Nicholas Beery.
Died 1 April 1946 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA, of heart failure.

Brother of actor Wallace Beery.

Noah Beery was raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and left home for New York at 16 years old. He soon began performing in vaudeville where he gained years of acting experience. His motion picture work began after his younger brother Wallace coaxed him to Hollywood to act in films in 1915. Character actor Beery often played heavies and is best-remembered for his comical villain portrayal in The Mark of Zorro (1920).

As in the silent era, Noah Beery was a prolific actor throughout the 1930s and 1940s.
