The play was previously filmed as Alias Jimmy Valentine (1920). / Talking sequences were recorded at the Paramount studio utilizing their equipment. This was the first MGM production with talking sequences. The film was also released in the USA in a silent version at eight reels (7142 feet) by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Distributing Corporation. / Silent film, with talking sequences, synchronized music and sound effects.
